Career (No Such Thing As Rock ‘n’ Roll) – Mott the Hoople / Songs #9

A while back I was listening to this audiobook by Nikki Sixx – The First 21: How I Became Nikki Sixx – and he mentions this song in one of the chapters. I’m thinking to myself, “I like Nikki Sixx. I like Mott the Hoople. Perhaps we have ourselves a peanut butter cup moment.” I immediately looked the song up and am happy to report that we achieved Reese’s.

This song is sung by Mott the Hoople’s second singer, Nigel Benjamin, who was later in a band with Mr. Sixx. I didn’t even know they had a second singer. The breadth of knowledge I had about Mott the Hoople was that Bowie covered them, and I got turned on to All the Way to Memphis whilst watching Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore.
